Salvation Army Addition, Annapolis, MD
Project DetailsThis 3,500 square foot addition provides a new chapel, office space, and a conference room to an existing Salvation Army chapter that is housed in a prefab metal panel building. The chapter is to be upgraded to a “Citadel” and needed a stronger presence to reflect its new significance in addition to its increased program. The new design uses traditional architectural forms seen on Army Citadels around the world. The location of the addition allowed the existing metal panel building to be screened. Rain gardens and native plantings also help to finish out the design while helping to naturally filter storm water run-off.
